Born in Berkshire in England in 1955, Carol Robertson studied at the Cardiff College of Art and the Chelsea School of Art. She now lives and works in London and has won many awards and prizes including a Research Fellowship in Painting at the University of Wales Institute, first prize in the Singer & Friedlander/Sunday Times Watercolour Competition, and residencies in Alayrac, France.

Carol’s recent work has moved away from her previous motifs of circles and stripes towards a more informal relationship with landscape, architecture, nature and the environment. It still, however, remains firmly rooted within reductive abstract conventions, with collisions and crossovers of coloured arcs registering flashes of chance and coincidence.

Carol has exhibited widely in both solo and group exhibitions and her work is held in many public and private collections including the Artotheque d'Annecy in France, the Arts Council of Great Britain, Goldman Sachs and Schroder UK.
